Reaching New Heights for Communication Network Modernization

Military forces around the world are reviewing their readiness as the global security landscape continues to evolve and the threat environment shifts to high-intensity warfare scenarios after decades of emphasis around counter-insurgency strategies.

With looming threats from large state actors, many nations are quickly increasing both the quality and size of their capabilities.

Solutions that are available today, integrated through a defense prime contractor with in-depth insight into the true needs of defense organizations through decades of support, can lead to the expedited force modernization in order to stay ahead of adversarial nations’ capabilities.

“ɫֱ Technologies is the premier industry leader in delivering comprehensive network modernization solutions for nations around the world, including NATO land forces,” said Kevin Steubing, Vice President, International Sales and Business Development, ɫֱ. “We specialize in enhancing coalition collaboration effectiveness and shortening the planning, decision and action cycle. This increases military force survivability through our innovation of emerging capabilities and our partnerships with industry players with niche, force-enabling solutions.”

Enhancing Coalition Collaboration Effectiveness

ɫֱ, leveraging readily available equipment from a collaborative industry consortium and its own flexible, interoperable C5ISR network of situational awareness capabilities, integrates solutions into cohesive networks that enables interoperability between disparate user networks.

In a recent exercise in the Netherlands, dubbed “EVEREST NL,” the company alongside a team of industry partners demonstrated how technology available today, unified within a secure network leveraging open-system architectures, can complement legacy networks or provide entirely new systems toward a full Command, Control, Computers, Communication, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) solutions.

“Our network flexibility, enabled by state-of-the art radio technology at the core, is a prerequisite for effective ISR, electronic warfare and air-to-ground integration as well as a seamlessly integrated all-domain common operational picture,” said Greg Zoughbi, Director, Business Development, ɫֱ. “Our comprehensive C5ISR solutions enable the manoeuvre forces in the field to enhance NATO and coalition collaboration effectiveness thereby increasing military forces’ survivability. We can seamlessly connect any user to any effector anywhere. Whatever a customer’s communication network problem is, we have a solution.”

During the EVEREST NL exercise, the team showcased how best-of-breed capabilities from across the market can deliver expedited threat identification-to-elimination effect with ɫֱ technology serving as the foundational backbone for the ecosystem.

The represented network connected all echelons of a land force representation from a Brigade or Task Force headquarters element down to the dismounted soldier. The combined system provided ground and satellite communication connectivity through various frequency bands with high-capacity and resilient waveforms, on the ground and through the air, as well as low-Earth orbit SATCOM. The system provided a comprehensive common operational picture as well as electronic warfare measures to support sensing, monitoring and protecting the network as a whole.
